Enjoy the Hazy Ride

I am kayaking early Sunday morning on Clear Lake. It’s pretty cloudy but the sun and blue skies are starting to peak through. I look at the water and I can see all the way to the bottom. I am feeling very clear today on this clear lake.

I am kayaking early Sunday morning on Clear Lake. It’s pretty cloudy but the sun and blue skies are starting to peak through. I look at the water and I can see all the way to the bottom. I am feeling very clear today on this clear lake.

I remember how hazy and unclear I felt just a week ago. This is very typical for me: going between clear and hazy in a given week (and sometimes in a given day!) I often struggle and get restless in the haziness.

We are still experiencing so much uncertainty in our lives. This can be very unsettling, emotional, and are unmotivated to take action on our goals.

Can you sit in the discomfort of it all?

I get that it’s so hard to sit in the discomfort of not knowing what the future will hold. Not knowing what your business will look like, not knowing when you will feel inspired again, not knowing what your relationships will be like, etc.

Being uncomfortable in the uncertainty isn’t a bad thing. It shows that you care and are committed to something. It’s part of the experience of being human and being alive.

Pandemic or not, there will be plenty of hazy days. The essence of life is change and evolution. Instead of trying to move out of discomfort, can you sit with it for a few minutes or longer? Don’t try to be anywhere else, just be with it.

Whether the lake is clear or not, allow yourself to enjoy the ride.
